AddPharma Staff Equipped with Essential Fire Safety Training by Ghana National Fire Service

As part of its unwavering commitment to workplace safety and emergency preparedness, AddPharma has partnered with the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to conduct a comprehensive fire safety training for its staff across various branches.

The fire safety exercise, which took place at the AddPharma Head Office, aimed to strengthen the staff’s capacity to respond effectively to fire-related emergencies, prevent fire outbreaks, and ensure the safety of personnel, customers, and property.

The training session, led by a team of professional fire officers from the GNFS, covered key topics such as:
🔸 Identifying common causes of fire in office environments
🔸 Fire prevention best practices
🔸 Emergency evacuation procedures
🔸 Effective communication during emergencies
🔸 Safe use of various types of fire extinguishers

One of the highlights of the session was a hands-on practical demonstration where employees were trained on how to properly operate fire extinguishers, including CO₂, foam, water, and powder types. Staff members were given the opportunity to practice extinguishing a controlled fire, helping build their confidence in managing real-life situations should they arise.

“Safety is not a one-time event; it’s a culture we are building at AddPharma,” said Mrs. Selorm Badger,  HR Manager. “This training is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure our staff are not only medically aware but also prepared for all forms of emergencies.”

The Ghana National Fire Service commended AddPharma for taking proactive steps to safeguard its workforce and investing in safety awareness, stating that such initiatives significantly reduce the risk of workplace fire incidents.

AddPharma continues to place a strong emphasis on health, safety, and wellness in the workplace — aligning with its mission of Caring Beyond Medicine. The company encourages all corporate entities to prioritize fire safety education and preparedness to protect lives and properties.
